English Speech Contest News
September and October are very busy months at our school. As the summer vacation ends, a number of events are held including the school festival and the hymn contest. Another set of events that are held at this time of year are the annual English speech contests for Junior and Senior High School students.
This year four of our students took part in the different contests and gave speeches on topics ranging from volunteering to racism to being able to express yourself. Each of the students worked very hard to write, practice and perform their speech.
While winning isn’t the most important thing, it was nice to see one of our students progress to the Prefectural Contest for Senior High School students. This is the second year in a row one of our students has achieved this.
While not every student could win a prize, I was proud to watch each of them speak and I believe that the experience was beneficial for them all. I hope that this encourages other students to come forward and take part in the speech contest next year!
