The 63rd Annual All Japan English Essay Contest Results
The results of the 63rd Annual All Japan English Essay Contest were announced last week and four students from our school were awarded prizes for their work.

The Annual All Japan English Essay Contest is a prestigious competition that is organised by the All Japan English Teachers Association. This year students from the first grade of senior high school wrote essays under the title ‘Why do I study English’ and second grade senior high school students wrote under the title ‘Why do I study English in the age of AI.’

In total, around 20,000 students from across Japan wrote essays for their in-school contests with around 1,500 essays being submitted to the final contest. In total around 225 students were awarded prizes.

I am very pleased that four of our students were awarded prizes for their efforts this year. The students spent a large amount of time during the summer vacation writing the essays as homework and it was very nice to read all of the essays that were submitted.

I hope that our students continue to do their best to express themselves in spoken and written English. While winning prizes isn’t the reason we study English, it is nice to be rewarded for such hard work and effort.
