Friday, October 30th is Halloween English Day! There are various events planned for the week..
Perhaps the most popular event is the Pumpkin Carving Contest, held on Monday this week. Six pumpkins waited to be turned into jack-o-lanterns by students from each grade…
The 6 designs were chosen from hundreds of ideas, drawn by students in grades 1-6.
Each champion designer chose some teammates to help carve the pumpkin, and the event started at 4:30 on Monday afternoon…
After a quick explanation, the students ‘dug in’! Using their designs as a guide, they cut, carved, emptied, washed and dried…
Even when the light started to fade, many teams were still carving away. But everyone was finished by 6:00!
What do you think? We were surprised at how the students managed to carve their pumkins to look exactly like their designs! :-)
Well done girls! 6 Jack-o-lanterns for Halloween Week!
Teachers are voting for the best design, and the creators will receive Halloween goodies on Friday! It’s no trick, just treats! ;-)
