Happy new year!

We went to Orlando, Florida in America during winter vacation! This was my first time to go America, so I was so excited. Orlando is located in central Florida, America and it is nice and warm throughout the year. We can enjoy fishing and canoeing in the surrounding beautiful nature. Also, it is known as the world’s biggest theme park city. There are more than 750,000,000 tourists who visit Orlando. We can also quickly access the Kennedy Space Center, which is well known as the gateway to space.
　
We left Canada on Christmas Day. There were a lot of beautiful Christmas decorations at the airport!

冬休みに、ホストファミリーと一緒にアメリカのオーランドに行きました。アメリカに行くのは初めてだったので、ずっと楽しみにしていました。
オーランドはアメリカフロリダ州中央部に位置し、年間を通して温暖な気候に恵まれています。美しい大自然の中で、のんびり釣りやカヌーを楽しむことが出来ます。また『世界一のテーマパーク都市』として知られ、年間7500万人以上の旅行者が訪れています。そして、宇宙への玄関口として有名な「ケネディ･スペースセンター」にも短時間でアクセスできます。
　
クリスマスの日に、カナダを出発しました。空港にも、たくさんのクリスマスの飾りつけがされていて、とても綺麗でした。

We went to lots of places in America. We went sightseeing, to gift shops, and to some convenience stores. America is a neighboring country to Canada, so there are many things similar and things that are American. It was so interesting for me!

アメリカでは様々な場所に行きました。観光地やギフトショップ、コンビニにも行きました。アメリカはカナダと隣の国とあって、似ているところがあったり、またアメリカらしいところがあったりして、どこを見てもとても楽しかったです。

We went to Universal Studios, which I was looking forward to the most. The park was bigger than the Japanese park and it is divided into 2 parks. We ate lunch at Leaky Cauldron. We spent all day at the park! There were some rides about Dr. Seuss and The Simpsons. Those are not in Japan and we couldn’t go on all of the rides. I was so attracted to the things in each park.

私が一番楽しみにしていたユニバーサルスタジオにも行きました。ここは日本のものよりも大きく、2つのパークに分かれていました。ハリーポッターのエリアにあるレストラン「漏れ鍋」でお昼を食べ、1日中パーク内で過ごしました。日本にはないドクタースースやシンプソンズの世界もあり、1日では全て回りきれませんでした。私は、ひとつひとつのアトラクションに出会うたび、とてもワクワクしました

Universal Studios is full of the world of movies. It is said there are three elements to a movie: the script, the visuals, and the acting. Here at Universal, we can see one scene of the acting. I was really excited to see a scene I had seen before come back to life in front of my eyes. Also, the movie theater is fully equipped with facilities for watching movies, such as large screens, sound, and 4D, so you can feel as if you are watching the story unfold right in front of your eyes. I want to enjoy many movies with my whole body.

ユニバーサルスタジオには映画の世界が広がっています。映画には三つの要素があると言われています。 それは脚本、映像、演技です。ここでは、ワンシーンではありますが、その「実演」を目の当たりにする事が出来ます。見たことのあるシーンが目の前で蘇り、本当にドキドキしました。また、映画館は大画面や音響、4Dなど映画を見るための設備が充実しており、まるで目の前で実際の場面が展開されているかのような臨場感を味わうことが出来ます。これからも、たくさんの映画を全身で楽しみたいと思います。

Also, unlike Winnipeg, the weather was very nice and warm. So we went to the pool in the hotel and a water park called Aquatica. We celebrated the new year at beside the pool in the hotel with the family. We saw big fireworks and cheered at 12 o’clock when the year started. I could experience New Year's Eve in a way different from Japan.

また、極寒のウィニペグとは違い暖かい気候なので、ホテルのプールや「アクアティカ」というウォーターパークにも行きました。新年はホテルのプールサイドで家族と一緒にお祝いしました。年が変わる午前0時には花火が上がり、家族で乾杯をしました。日本とはまた違う年越しを経験することができました

I could make a lot of valuable experiences and memories during this winter vacation. I am very thankful to my parents and my host family that accepted me and took me to America with them.

この冬休みに、またたくさんの貴重な経験と思い出を作ることができました。カナダに留学させてくれた両親と、私を受け入れ一緒にアメリカへ連れて行ってくれたホストファミリーに感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。

Our school starts on January 9th. We have exams in February. I will do my best and enjoy every day.

１月９日から学校も始まり、2月には期末試験もあります。気持ちを切り替えて、毎日を過ごしていきます。
