9月からカナダのノバスコシアに５か月留学している高校2年生から、お便りが届きました。

Hi! It’s been two months since I came to Nova Scotia! October had a few events here in Canada, but Halloween was definitely the most exciting one 🎃 The night before, my school turned into a haunted house, and I was so impressed by how realistic it was! On the day of Halloween, my friends and teachers came to school in costumes and attended classes like that. I didn’t dress up, but I had so much fun giving out candy to little kids who came trick-or-treating. It was such a cute and happy time 💞

こんにちは！ノバスコシア州に来て2ヶ月が経ちました！カナダの10月はいくつかイベントがありましたが、中でもハロウィンは間違いなく一番楽しかったです🎃　前日の夜、学校がお化け屋敷に変身し、そのリアルさに感動しました！　ハロウィン当日は、友達や先生たちが仮装して学校に来て、まるでお化け屋敷で授業を受けたようでした。　私は仮装はしませんでしたが、トリック・オア・トリートに来た小さな子供たちにお菓子を配るのがとても楽しかったです。とても可愛くて楽しい時間でした💞

Not only at my school, but at many schools abroad, teachers also join in and enjoy events together with students. In Japan, school is more like a place to study and follow rules strictly, which isn’t wrong, but I really like the free and fun atmosphere here. It makes me feel like we should enjoy every moment with our friends while we’re still students. Maybe it’s also because Canada doesn’t have big university entrance exams like Japan does. I like how people here can focus less on studying and more on enjoying the “now.” 💫

私の学校だけでなく、海外の多くの学校では、先生もイベントに参加して、生徒たちと一緒に楽しんでいます。日本では、学校は勉強をして規則を厳格に守る場所というイメージがあります。それはそれで良いのですが、ここの自由で楽しい雰囲気がとても好きです。学生のうちに、友達と過ごす一瞬一瞬を大切に過ごしたいと思えます。カナダでは日本ほど大学入試が厳しくないからかもしれません。みんなが勉強にこだわらず「今」を楽しんでいる姿勢が好きです。💫
