カナダ留学だより 9月
Hi! This is Hana from Winnipeg. Our school started two weeks ago and I’m having a very good time.

In art class, we are drawing about “Capturing Childhood.”
We use small pieces of paper that are about 3x3 inch square.
We are making a little book with them. I’m drawing them with color pencils.
We shared with others in the classroom and talked about it.
In EAL class, we drew an “All About Me Timeline.” We drew it on a piece of paper and put it on the classroom wall.
It is fun to draw and write reminiscing back to childhood.
美術の授業では自分が小さかった頃のことをテーマに絵を描きました。約10cm四方の小さい画用紙に描いて、豆本にしました。クラスのみんなと読み合ったりして楽しみました。
英語の授業では自分が生まれてから今までの出来事を一枚の紙にまとめて教室に掲示しました。
どちらの授業でも自分が小さかった頃のことを思い出しながら書きました。

During lunch breaks and after school, I am hanging out with an exchange student from Thailand and an international student from the Philippines. We eat lunch in the cafeteria, and we also go shopping or to a cafe.
It is almost the Philippine student’s birthday, so we went shopping to buy her a present.
She said she likes matcha-flavor candies so we bought some for her.
We would be happy if she liked them.
昼休みや放課後は、タイからの留学生と、フィリピンから移住した生徒とよく一緒に過ごしています。食堂でお昼をいただいたり、放課後にカフェやお店に寄ったりすることもあります。
フィリピンの子の誕生日が近いので、一緒にプレゼントを買いに行きました。抹茶が好きとのことなので、抹茶味のお菓子を買いました。喜んでもらえると嬉しいです。

With my host family, we went for a walk and went shopping on a holiday. We bought seaweed, instant miso-soup, and green tea. We made rice balls for dinner! It was very good. I was happy that they said it was delicious.
I brought them for lunch and my friends asked me to bring some for them next time, so I will make them one for next time🍙

ホストファミリーとは、休日に一緒に買い物や散歩に行ったり、一緒におにぎりを作ったりしました。近所のスーパーで海苔と味噌汁、緑茶を買い、夕飯で一緒いただきました。みんな美味しいと言ってくれて嬉しかったです。
お弁当としてお昼に持っていったら、私の分も作ってきてほしいと友達に言われたので次はいっぱい作っていこうと思います🍙

After school, at a shopping mall 放課後の買い物
It was Truth and Reconciliation week this week. It is a week to honour the real history of Canada and those who continue to fight for Truth and Reconciliation. We wore orange or red T-shirts and walked around the track with all students and teachers. I learnt that student from residential schools walked all the way back home to escape from the schools. I was able to know about Canadian history.
今週は「真実と和解の週」でした。これは、カナダの歴史の真実と、その中で「真実と和解」を求めて闘った人々を讃える日です。その日は全校でオレンジ色や赤のTシャツを着て登校しました。強制的に拘束されていた先住民寄宿学校から遠くの家まで歩いて逃げ帰った先住民を思い起こし、校庭を全校生徒と先生方が一緒に歩きました。またひとつカナダについての歴史を知ることができたと思います。

It’s been a month since I arrived to Canada. I’m having a good time with my host family and friends. Some of the classes are difficult for me but I enjoy going to school because my friends are there.
カナダに来て一ヶ月が経ちました。ホストファミリーや学校の友達と仲良く過ごしています。
授業は難しいものもありますが、先生や友達のおかげで毎日楽しいです。
