Hello, it’s Koko from the United States of America. Everyday has been passing really fast these days and it’s already 2024!! It’s really hard to believe…
On the 31st of December, after attending an American football game, we visited my dad's friend's house. There, I had the pleasure of meeting several people for the first time, all of whom were incredibly welcoming and genuinely interested in learning about me and Japan.
We enjoyed a delightful dinner together, played card games, and shared laughter until the arrival of the New Year. As the clock struck midnight, we embraced, creating a special moment that I had never experienced back in Japan, leaving me feeling incredibly warm and cherished.
12月31日にアメリカンフットボールの試合を見た後、私たちはホストファーザーの友人の家を訪れました。そこで初めての人々と出会い、皆がとてもあたたかく歓迎してくださり、日本に興味を持ってくださいました。私たちは一緒に楽しい夕食を楽しみ、カードゲームをしたりし、新年が来るまで時間まで一緒に過ごしました。時計が真夜中を打ったときみんなハグをして、日本で経験したことのない特別なとても温かい素敵な瞬間を経験しました。
This month, we had dance performances.
The first one was on January 5th. This time, 11 teammates, thankfully including me, were chosen and performed the song Levitating by Dua Lipa.
今月もダンスパフォーマンスがありました。最初は1月5日で、私を含む11人のチームメイトが、Dua Lipaの「Levitating」を踊りました。

My school was used to film basketball movies a long time ago. So on our 50th anniversary, we had a basketball game in the same gym called Blue Chips. My friend and I watched from the student section and cheered for our school team. It was a pretty good close game, but we won!
Many famous people like Shaquille O’Neal attended. I am so lucky to be here in this precious year. I’m very blessed to have an experience like this.
私の学校は以前バスケットボールの映画の撮影場所として使われていました。最近「ブルーチップス」と呼ばれるその体育館でバスケットボールの試合があり50周年を祝いました。友人と一緒に学生席から観戦し、学校チームを応援しました。接戦でしたが勝てたのでとても盛り上がりました！シャキール・オニールなど、有名人が出席しました。この特別な年にここにいられることをとても幸運に思います。素晴らしい経験でした。
On the 27th, my friend invited me to go to a seafood restaurant with my friend and her cousin. We ate a seafood boil. It had shrimps, eggs, crabs, potatoes etc. in it. It was really delicious and made us full. Even after that, we ate a cheese cake which seemed like it was quite famous. I think it was the best seafood that I have had in the US. After that, we went shopping. I had a great time with them.
友人が彼女のいとこと私をシーフードレストランに誘ってくれました。エビ、カニなどのシーフードを楽しみました。とても美味しくて、お腹いっぱいになりました。アメリカで食べたシーフードで一番美味しかったです。その後、有名なチーズケーキを食べ、ショッピングに行きました。彼女たちと一緒に素晴らしい時間を過ごしました。とても貴重でとても楽しい経験でした。
